Five years after the last referendum by the chroniclers association of Congolese music (ACMCO) the chroniclers of music are getting ready indeed to reward those they regard as the best Congolese musicians and groups in the period of October 2007 to September 2008. From the list of nominees made public, Le Karmapa is called out in four categories: best songwriter, best song with “First Lady” (from his latest album “Riposte”), best album with his album “Riposte” and his orchestra Rive Droite class K in the category of best group.
According to Naty Lokole – in charge of the organization’s press: “The award is representative of a treble clef, symbolizing music. It will be available during a demonstration that will be followed by a gala evening where all the nominees will be invited and in which they will be awarded Certificates.
Le Karmapa in Kisangani then in Luanda – Angola
Until that fateful day, Le Karmapa and his group “Rive droite Classe K” played on Sunday 15 February at Lumumba of Kisangani as part of Valentine’s Day, the day of lovers. “A stadium full to bursting” as the singer in a telephone call received from Kisangani on Monday in the under AEM.
