On the occasion of his birthday, Junior Vangu had dreamed of a big party in honor of media people of the Congolese Diaspora in London. Ultimately it is the mentoring of a budding star he chose to offer as present to himself.
Despite the defection of several men and women of the media, the UK Congolese artists have improved their images through unanimously admired performances. One of them is the 7 year-old girl, Cheryl Isako, the star of the birthday party.
With aplomb and a form of assurance coupled with carelessness, the young star superbly exhibited the Shakalewa dance.
This amazed Junior Vangu, aka Champignon, so much to the point that he took the microphone to announce that he would groom the young star’s fledgling career.
The event, named the Congolese Cultural Media Awards, was graced with the presence of other musicians, namely Smokey, Celli Dynasty and Bébé Vegas Tuthakamun. It took place on Saturday 25 May in London.
