Fourteen days after his death, on Thursday, May 12, 2011,Bimi Ombale was taken to his final resting place, at the Mbenseke Futi Cemetery,Kinshasa. It was a moment of intense emotion due to this painful separation with not only with music lovers but also and especially with his former fellow members of the Langa Langa Clan, as well as Zaiko Langa Langa group in which he had evolved since its inception in 1969 until 1988.

Over the years, conflicts and hostilities that have marred the history of Zaiko Langa Langa gave way to a rapprochement between Langa Langa clan members, who were very present at the funeral of Mwana Wabi, namely Jossart Nyoka Longo, Papa Wemba, Bozi Boziana, Felix Manwaku Waku, and Efonge Gina Wa Gina. They were there to bid him a farewell. Even if the deceased had left his neighborhood, a vigil was held from May 11 to 12 in his stronghold, the precincts of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), in the neighbourhood of Matonge, commune of Kalamu.

A prolific songwriter …

During his nineteen years in Zaiko Langa-Langa, Bimi Ombale shone through his talent as a singer and a songwriter of the most prolific of the group. Insofar as he was a maker of tubes, the press, through the pen of journalist Nzita Mabiala, will nickname him “the Zaiko Langa Langa’s goose that lays golden eggs”.

This is evidenced by his extensive discography with anthology hits that the Friends of Zaiko Langa-Langa (Guy Mabita and Prof. Frank Mambi) had, by duty to memory, to reconstruct: Josée-Lina and Joliba (1972), Mvuanza and Zena ( 1973), Mwana Wabi and Mizou (1974), Mbelengo (1975), Lisapo / Baniango (1976), Ima, Youyou and Didina (1977), Likamwisi and Misolina (1st version, 1978), Misolina (repeat), Aziza, Bongania , Moni-Amina, Wabi Cheri B (1979), Amitié (1980), Kinshasa Makambo and La Blonde (1981), Mopaya Zoba (1982), Elima Ngando and Babi (1982), Mimi la Rwandaise, Lolita / Muana Nioka and Sandra Lina (1984), Fanny (1986), Nibe (1986).

We will not forget the title “Loli Andi” he had signed in an album of the trio Nyobiwe (Nyoka Longo – Bimi Ombale – Papa Wemba) under the project “Langa Langa Clan, Bilombe Bakutani”.

Before the Zaiko Familia Dei adventure, of which he was one of the co-founders and where he will explode with his fantastic voice — especially in the title “Oiseau rare” of Ilo Pablo, which reaped a great success — Bimi Ombale had released in 1988 at Bono Music’s, under the artistic direction of Norbert Bokilo, a compilation entitled “Sentiment Bimi” with the collaboration of Alain Makaba, Malage de Lugendo, Popolipo, Petit Poisson, Manjeku, Petit Cachet and Marius. There can we find, re-actualized according to the style of the day the titles given to the style of the day, the titles such as “Mwana Wabi”, “Joliba”, “Zena”, “Lisapo”, “Moniamina,” “La Blonde”, “Nibe ya Bomwana” (medley), “Moloki ” “Mwan’Aziza ” and ” Desespoir “(a composition of Zizi Zanga de Los Nickelos).

In 1980, with input from Lassa Carlito and Nzaya Nzayadio upfront, and Roxy Tshimpaka at the lead guitar, he signed “Balle de match”, an album with 4 songs, including two repeats — “Trop de problèmes” (a remix of “Mbelengo”) and “Muana nioka” (new version) –and two new tracks: “Sambela Tozala” and “Mowumbu ya bolingo”.

In his Loningisa Basilica adventure, we can consider tracks such as “Papy Masampu”, “Bweta”, “Nana Mopaya” (remake of “Mopaya Zoba”), “Amour raté”, “Sakaroni”, all sung with Carlito Lassa.
