Back from the USA, Fally Fally “Di Caprio” or “El marabilhoso” came back on
Friday, 29 October, to perform two concerts in South Africa where he arrived five
days earlier at heading a delegation of 29 members amongst which,
columnist of musique 33, Tshitenge of RTGA. The first concert, which was held on the
evening of October 29 in Campsbay hall in Cape Town, was an average style concert with not much audience said our colleague Bibiche N’Suku. The next day, the crowd was larger, with nearly 600 people in Bassline hall, Newtown in Johannesburg.
A success half met that could explain the refraining of the diaspora Congolese press in South Africa to promote the two concerts. Some members of the press have in fact criticized Ntemba Kayembe for failing to pay consideration to them. As a sign to compensate for the boycott, JRG House Production gratified the singers with some bank notes and also bought ticket for some of the spectators.
A gesture that Lusinda Olivier, the manager of the House of production says, aims to
providing support to Ntemba Kayembe who was greatly in need of it after what had
happened to him with the cancellation of the tour of Koffi Olomide. The firm, moreover, announced the arrival, in the coming weeks, of Felix Wazekwa in South Africa.
As a recap, the most romantic singer of the DRC (Koffi) went to Tanzania while he was expected for a tour of at least one month in South Africa where he would also continue the recording of his new album “Abracadabra”.
Afraid of being arrested by Zambian police he would flee on foot, according to critics,
through the forest to Katanga where Ntemba went to join him for a
refund. Presumably being under an arrest warrant for alleged rape case
under investigation by the Hight court of Nanterre, Koffi Olomide was therefore unable to travel to South Africa which he is avoiding, for now, in fear of being arrested and deliver to the French justice.
Nonetheless, for the promoter, Kayembe Ntemba who admitted to AEM still being liable
to many music lovers who had bought tickets for the Koffi cancelled concerts: “It not over yet these two Fally productions just served to regain trust with the public, to Keep the image of the House Ntemba International from tarnishing by the failing of Koffi Olomide from keeping the contract which had yet touched his renown in advance. “
