From Worldly Music to Pastorate : The Twisting Life of François Makolin Mbanzulu

Married and father of two, brother François Makolin Mbazulu Zolana currently lives in Duren, a town located in north-eastern Germany, near the frontier with Belgium. After a eighteen-year spell in Christian life, Brother Makolin was ordained pastor on the 15th of June 2013 before several men of God and Sister Mireille Basirwa, a gospel singer of GAEL orchestra.

The emotion was overwhelming in the room when he was sworn in as a pastor and a servant of God. The ordination ceremony took place in Scailquin 1210, Brussels, Belgium, in his local church designated Full Gospel Assembly, and was presided over by its leader, Apostle Nestor Kamwanga.

As regard a brief biography of his, Pastor François Makolin, before accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior, embraced a career in entertainment music. He started with a youth band of Matadi, DR Congo, beside Fafa de Molokai, the late Schekedan, Cartouche, Djo Nolo and other; then, arriving in Kinshasa, he integrated Lita Bembo’s Stukas band, before culminating into Victoria Eleison of Kester Emeneya. In 1987, just six months after his integration into Victoria Eleison, he traveled much in European countries. Unfortunately, because of a series of disappointments experienced in his relationship within the band, he quit the latter and decided to remain in Europe for a solo career.

Being then one of the DRC’s star tenor singers, he got solicited by many high-profile band bosses, including Koffi Olomide of Quartier Latin, Nyoka Longo of Zaïko Langa Langa, and Papa Wemba of Viva la Musica. Withal, destiny forced him later on to bid a farewell to entertainment music, and to live in reclusion in Dortmund. There he met with a servant of God, who brought him the good news of Jesus Christ.  Thus, for eighteen year, Brother Makolin opted for living under the mentorship of men of God so that he grows in faith. In 2002, he released his maiden gospel album titled Glory be to God. Of which you can watch a clip on the following link:

A Little testimony

Pastor Makolin said this about himself: “Since I was a child my late mother ceaselessly prophesied about my pastoral ministry. I kept telling her I’m a star; I’m the most famous of our family, and I defend the honour of our clan. And today it is accomplished, and I’m consecrated for the service of the Lord Jesus Christ!

I also grab this opportunity to inform internet users, who have the occasion to read me, that God has set up two ways before us, life and death; and He advise us to chose life so as to live eternally. Jesus Christ returns soon; the signs of His advent are dazzling among us, as He had declared. Let’s go back to the Lord of glory; come and sing for Him, not for the world and fruitless things, for worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ is the marvelous everlasting life we shall be living in heaven”.
