Amagep recently discovered a man of multiple virtues: modesty, motivation, courage and devotion for the welfare of immigrants in South Africa. The man in question is Mr. Jean-Pierre Lukamba Om.
Our hounds spotted him during the festivity held by the Johannesburg City Hall a month before the 2010 Fifa World Cup.
In the preparations of this world sporting event of the year, he was in charge of the logistics and of ushering everybody in the mega event’s fever. Besides, on Saturday, September 25th,2010, he coordinated the commemoration of the South African Heritage Day.
Hence, Amagep has the privilege to unveil in detail the multifaceted life of this son of Africa in our future issues. For, despite his busy schedule, he has agreed to grant us an interview as soon as he gets some spare time. In the meantime, what we have to keep in mind is that Mr.
Jean-Pierre Lukamba is the founder, here in South africa, of an NGO that deals, in collaboration with the government of the Republic of South Africa and the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), with the integration of refugees and asylum seekers.
He is as well a member of the team that works with the Secretary General of the South African branch of Amnesty International.
He equally participates in the Pan-African Parliament’s activities as a member of the executive committee of the African Diaspora of South africa. He writes articles that are published in South Africa’s governmental gazette and in international journals. In short, we can say that Mr. Lukamba is a pride of the Democartic Republic of Congo in South Africa.
