Abbot BLAISE MAMBU ordained on the 1st August 1989

Is well known amongst the youth and parents for his devotional assistance and caring and a respected man in the city of Kinshasa. He is seen as a motivator and a man who promotes the fear of God wherever he goes.

In 2002 he was mandated to South Africa at the St Francis of Assist parish in Yeoville – Johannesburg, where he came in order to gather all the Catholic French-speaking believers. This was a challenging task that required spiritual maturity and good leadership.

Thanks to his vocational character and being a motivator without limits he encourages and promoted the integration of the French-speaking community into the local community, and resurrected the parish that was almost on its downfall.

He succeeded in established a French-speaking service at the parish and three years later they were blessed and moved to a new location at City Deep where he is currently running the Catholic Archdiocese of Johannesburg DIVINE MERCY COMMUNITY  ..parish.

Last year the community celebrated with him his twentieth anniversary of priesthood.

He says that the Priesthood life is a sacrificial life that one has to live, it’s like caring the cross for others without expectation of human rewards. And the believers should not let the priest become borrowers but they should take care of the priest for the work rendered to the people of God.

The Abbot is a man that God used to act through the French-speaking community and may God bless him for the work he has done and is carry on doing in the midst of His people.
