On May 15, 2004, the FIFA Executive Committee chose South Africa to host
the 2010 World Cup. For the first time in history,
the Africa continent has been honored to host this great gathering of world soccer.
Nevertheless beyond the sporting character and history of this edition, the
Federation International of Football Association wanted to make of this event
an opportunity to assist in the development of Africa. So on July 7, 2006 it has
officially launched its project “Win in Africa with Africa”. A project
with more than 70 million dollars with the main objective of putting
Africans at the heart of their own development.
It is in this context that at the level of the press wise , FIFA partnering with the
AFP initiated around the continent training sessions. Divestitures designed to
give African journalists necessary tools to cover the soccer meetings with efficiency and
professionalism in particular the World Cup 2010 World Cup OUR!
So this year, Serge Tungila and Didier Djonga Okito respectively reporter
and photographer for leopardsfoot in Kinshasa, were given attended two
Sessions of the given trainings, which took place in Gabon and in South Africa.
Upon this two sessions, our two correspondents have recently obtained two
press accreditation to cover the next World Cup in South Africa.
The allocation of these two certificates is part of the will of FIFA to
involve all African countries in this global celebration. Even if the
leopards of DR Congo will not be present in South Africa, léopardsfoot and
other Congolese media will try to make you experience this event as if you were
there.
As a result, our entire team would like to thank FIFA and the AFP for this
recognition without forgetting the Ministry of Youth and Sports as well as
the Congolese Football Federation through its president Mr. Omari constant
and its head Mr. Press Nzila Fanan without whom all these efforts would be
to no avail
